29 June 2004 is the deadline for countries to sign the FCTC. Signing means that a country will not endanger the Treaty and can take part in its negociations. After this date, countries will only be able to adopt the treaty.

Our objective is to have the largest number of countries to sign the treaty before 29 June 2004 and then to have as soon as possible 40 ratifications so the treaty can come into force.
